Labor Law
An amendment to the Labor Law is doomed to failure if it fails to Venezuela to create seven million jobs, it would be possible with an agreement between government, employers and workers, said Deputy Froilan Barrios.
“Venezuela is experiencing a dramatic situation, as only six million Venezuelans, an active population of 13 million, has formal employment. The rest is in the informal or simply unemployed,” said opposition legislator Notimex.
Barrios, chairman of the Labor Solidarity Movement (MSL), added that despite the opposition MPs ignore the text of the amendment, it will begin to be discussed in the National Assembly (unicameral Congress) next week.
The labor leader said that the draft amendment to the Labor Law “should be oriented towards the search for a new economic model that produces decent.”
